GAMBARAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT MASYARAKAT KABUPATEN SAMBAS (Studi dilakukan pada Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata Merajut Nusantara tahun 2019)

ABSTRAK
Latar belakang: Karies gigi masih menjadi masalah kesehatan gigi di Indonesia. Menurut Rikesdas 2018, prevalensi karies gigi di Indonesia 45,3% khususnya di Sambas dengan prevalensi karies 51,14 % dan salah satu faktor risikonya adalah kualitas sumber air minum yang rendah Tujuan: Memperoleh data demografi, derajat keasaman air minum, saliva dan status kesehatan gigi masyarakat di Kabupaten Sambas responden Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Sambas 2019 Metode: Penelitian deskriptif pendekatan potong lintang yang dilakukan pada masyarakat kabupaten Sambas yang menjadi responden KKN melalui kuesioner; pemeriksaan kesehatan gigi mulut, pH saliva dan air minum. Hasil: 151 responden yang diperiksa memiliki usia rata-rata 24,953 tahun, 66% menggunakan air hujan sebagai sumber air minum dengan keasaman (pH) air 5,965; pH saliva 6,40. Nilai DMFT sebesar 6,51. Berdasarkan uji statistik, tidak ada perbedaan antara sumber air minum, IMT, frekuensi ke dokter gigi dengan nilai DMFT. Korelasi antara pH air minum dengan nilai DMFT sangat lemah, pH saliva dengan DMFT berkorelasi kuat. Kesimpulan: Kesehatan gigi masyarakat kabupaten Sambas masih sangat rendah. Terjadinya karies gigi pada masyarakat kabupaten Sambas tidak dipengaruhi oleh sumber air minum tapi adanya faktor perilaku untuk menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang kurang baik.
