EFEK PLATELET-RICH PLASMA PADA PERGERAKAN GIGI DALAM PERAWATAN ORTODONTI
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Background: Orthodontic tooth movement is the result of a biological response to physiological changes in the balance of the dentofacial area resulting from the influence of externally generated forces from the use of orthodontic appliances. In some cases, orthodontic movement take a lot of time. Injection of platelet-rich plasma was reported to have the effect of accelerating tooth movement during the orthodontic treatment phase. Objective: The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze the effect of using platelet-rich plasma in accelerating tooth movement in orthodontic treatment. Methods: analyzing journals from Google Scholar, Research Gate, NCBI, PubMed, textbook, national and international journal databases. The results of the research that have been analyzed are the use of injection of platelet-rich plasma in patients who undergo orthodontic treatment. The type of injection used is PRP injection. Conclusion: Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) on orthodontic tooth movement has a positive effect on accelerating orthodontic movement. Giving the PRP injection to the area of the tooth can result in remodeling of the bone and tissue, but there is a significant reduction in tooth movement because PRP injection is no longer been given, this causes the need to be carried out continuously so that the effect is maximized.
