Tatang Muttaqin

Abstract

The role of education in developing oneself as human resource has been discussed extensively by Fullan (1982) as a general objective of education, which includes the cognitive aspect comprising academic skills (reading and mathematics) and at a higher level of thinking skills (ability in problem solving). Furthermore, according to Fullan, education simultaneously includes the development of personal and social aspects, which enable a person to work and live in a group creatively, with initiatives, empathy and possess adequate interpersonal skills to live in society.
