Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS JOURNAL

  1. Articles written for the journal are the results of research in the field of communication, based on real research results have not and will not be published in any media.
  2. The Article, free from plagiarism including self-plagiarism (Article was reviewed independently by the application of anti-plagiarism. Click the icon of Grammarly at sidebar).
  3. The title of the article contains not more than 12 words in Indonesian, or not more than 10 words in English, without abbreviations . The title is written centered,14 pts font size, Times New Roman, Sentence case, Bold, center, space 1, without subtitles and punctuation
  4. The name of the author is registered without an academic degree, followed by the name and address of the affiliations, below the article title. For texts written in teams, the editor will only contact the main author, or the author whose name is registered in the first place. The main author must specify your email address.
  5. The correspondence of main author is written at footnote form on the first page, consisting of: full name, title, institution, institution address, and email.
  6. The name of the institution of each author listed only the names of colleges or corporate institutions (without abbreviated, without a description of faculties, divisions, departments etc.). Example: Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) or PT. Telkom Indonesia
  7. Abstract and keywords are written in two languages (Indonesian and English). The length of each abstract 150-200 words, followed by 3-5 keywords. Abstract contains the problems, objectives, methods, concepts, and results of research. written in 1 (one) paragraph, 11 point Times New Roman, space 1, justify paragraph, 150-200 words, no numbering.
  8. Articles are the results of research, consisting of 4,000-5,000 words (Introduction, Literature and Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, and References).
  9. Footnote usage is not allowed, authors should write it in body notes.
  10. Quotation of more than 3 lines or 40 words should write in direct quotation style (1 spacing with margin indented).
  11. Every paragraph should use a tab / 7 beats, consisting of at least 2 sentences, space 1.5, justify, 12 point Times New Roman.
  12. The manuscripts only consist of INTRODUCTION, METHODOLOGY, RESULT AND DISCUSSIONS, CONCLUSIONS, REFERENCES.
  13. Sub-chapter that not included in point 16 above is not allowed. Sub-Chapter should be written with 1.5 spacing, Capital, 12 point Times New Roman, bold, left margin.
  14. The Introduction, contains research background, research context, concepts or theories, literature review results and research objectives. Research problems contain interesting things (controversial, unresolved, and new developments) and brief formulations of the subject matter to be discussed. This sections present an integrated way of writing, with a length of 15-20% of the total length of the article.
  15. In the Methodology sections, contains concepts or theories about the research, paradigm, research methods, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques of the research, with a length of 10-15% of the total length of the article.
  16. In the Results and Discussion section, show the results of the exposure analysis related to the research questions. The discussion shows the meaning of the results and comparisons with the theories and/or results of similar studies. Also, this section contains the writer analytical thinking, argumentative, logical, and/or critical. This section are 40-60% of the total length of the article.
  17. Conclusion Section, contains a summary of the results of research that answers research questions, and describes the essence of the results of research and discussions. Conclusions are presented in paragraph form. Long exposures conclude 5-10% of the length of the article.
  18. Tables and Figures descriptions are reviewed in more depth, but are not repeated in the text. The contents of the tables/figures are clear and informative. The reference in the table uses the number above table and the title with center text, and the source is placed below the table with center text. Reference of the figures, put number below the image, with the title and source of the image, center text.
  19. Language. Articles are written in Indonesian or in good English, where all foreign words are italicized. Articles are presented in essay format and without numbering. Articles have no typos in spelling, standard terms, and standard sentences. Each paragraph contains at least 2 sentences, in which one paragraph contains one point.
  20. The References List contains only the sources referenced in the article, and all sources referenced in the article must be listed in the reference list. The source of reference is at least 80% in the form of literature published 10 years. References used are the main sources in the form of publicized research articles in research journals or reports (including theses, dissertations). Articles published in the Journal of Communication Sciences are recommended for use as references.
  21. Citations use the enclosed reference technique (last name, year). The inclusion of sources in a direct quote must be accompanied by information about the place of origin of the page number. example (Aldo, 2018).
  22. References are compiled using the 6th edition of APA Style, in alphabetical and chronological order, as the following example:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
