Focus and Scope

Petanda: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi dan Humaniora (Online ISSN 2614-5537) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama), Jakarta, Indonesia.

The journal publishes research in communication, social sciences, political science, and humanities, including interdisciplinary studies related to social and human issues. Petanda is published twice a year, in June and December.

The journal welcomes articles in the following areas:

• Mass media, digital media, and social media;
• Journalism and media studies;
• Public relations and strategic communication;
• Advertising, branding, and marketing communication;
• Political economy of media;
• Development and community communication;
• Gender, identity, and community empowerment;

• Interdisciplinary studies in social sciences and humanities.

Petanda Journal also encourages contemporary research topics such as artificial intelligence and communication, algorithmic culture, digital activism, influencer culture, digital public relations, crisis communication, climate communication, political polarization, media trust, digital well-being, and youth social media behavior.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Publication: 500.000.00 (IDR)

Based on the policy of the new management of the Petanda: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi dan Humaniora, starting from the issue of Volume 7 No. 2 Juni 2025, the publication fee for papers submitted to Jurnal Petanda (SINTA 4) is 500,000 (IDR).
