Journal History

Jurnal Ilmiah dan Teknologi Kedokteran Gigi (JITEKGI) is a scientific journal published by the Faculty of Dentistry at Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University, Jakarta, Indonesia. JITEKGI was established as a medium for scientific publication to support the dissemination of research findings, the advancement of knowledge and technology, and the sharing of academic insights within the field of dentistry.

JITEKGI was first published in 2007 as a print journal. In its early stages, the journal served as a platform for the academic community of the Faculty of Dentistry at Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University to publish their scholarly work, as well as a means to disseminate research findings and advancements in dental science and technology to the academic community and the dental profession.

In line with advancements in information technology and the shift of scientific publishing toward electronic systems, JITEKGI has transitioned its publishing model from print to an electronic (online) format. Since 2018, JITEKGI has published articles online using an electronic journal

 management system. This transition aims to enhance accessibility, improve editorial process efficiency, expand readership, and facilitate the broader dissemination of dental research findings.

JITEKGI has also expanded the scope of its scientific contributions by accepting articles across various fields of dentistry and related disciplines. This scope encompasses Conservative Dentistry, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Public Health Dentistry, as well as supporting fields such as Oral Biology, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and Dental Materials Science and Technology.

ITEKGI has evolved into an electronic journal and serves as a scientific publication outlet for the Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama). Its continuous publication since 2007 demonstrates the institution's commitment to maintaining the continuity of scientific publishing and providing a platform for researchers, academics, clinicians, and students to disseminate their research findings and scholarly studies in the field of dentistry.

Affiliated with the Indonesian Dental Association (PDGI), JITEKGI has been included in many reputable abstracting and indexing databases including Crossref, Google Scholar, SINTA, and Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital).
