Digital Motherhood dan Praktik Literasi Keluarga pada Ibu Milenial Bookstagram

Abstract


Social media has transformed the way mothers interpret and present parenting practices and family literacy. The Bookstagram community on Instagram has become a space for sharing reading experiences, book recommendations, as well as negotiating identities and mother-child relationships in digital public spaces, which marks a shift in parenting from the private realm to mediated social practice. This research explores and maps how millennial Bookstagram mothers interpret reading activities with children in daily life, family literacy practices, and negotiating roles as mothers, readers, and creators of literacy content. The method used is qualitative with Max van Manen's phenomenological approach. Data was obtained from in-depth interviews and digital observation. As a result, digital motherhood for millennial mothers on Bookstagram is a practice of reading and sharing literacy content and becomes a way of presenting oneself, forming the meaning of motherhood, and passing on values across generations in digital culture. Further research is recommended involving other subjects and more diverse methodological approaches to expand understanding of the relationship between literacy, motherhood, and digital identity.
